Gender-Realignment and Other Adventures. In contemporary Manchester, Georgia is a boy who wants to be a girl, but in the meantime she has got to survive another seedy night imitating 80’s punk icons and avoiding her Dad’s fists. In Dublin, fifty years before, aristocratic Michael Dillon is studying medicine at Trinity, where no-one realises he used to be Laura, and is the world’s first surgical female to male transsexual. What happens when even changing your sex isn’t enough to discover who you really are?
